ABSTRACT

Discussion:

In patients with hereditary blepharaphimosis syndrome, successful aesthetic and functional outcomes can be achieved with telecanthus-epicanthus and ptosis correction in two-stage surgery.

Results:

The mean follow-up time of patients was 19.6 (range: 6-84) months. The mean age was 10.2±7.5 (range: 3-28) years. Epicanthus and telecanthus were corrected in all patients. Ptosis was corrected with frontalis suspension surgery in 7 patients. All patients had symmetry in the canthal region and good canthal angle postoperatively. All patients who underwent ptosis surgery had eyelid symmetry.

Material and Method:

Clinical features and surgical results of 10 patients with blepharophimosis were analyzed retrospectively. Double Z-plasty and nasal wiring were performed for the correction of telecanthus-epicanthus. Frontalis suspension surgery with autogenous fascia lata was performed for the correction of ptosis.

Purpose:

To evaluate the results of ptosis and telecanthus-epicanthus surgeries in patients with blepharophimosis.
