ABSTRACT

Purpose:

To report the surgical management of cicatricial ectropion in a case with lamellar icthyosis.

Material and Methods:

A six year old girl with lamellar icthyosis was presented with bilateral cicatricial ectropion of the upper and lower eyelids. Her entire body was involved with the disease process. Supraclavicular skin grafts and lateral tarsorrhaphy were successfully used to repair the ectropion.

Results:

18 months following surgery the patient had no corneal exposure, but had slight ectropion at the lower eyelids.

Conclusion:

Supraclavicular skin is an alternative donor tissue for correction of cicatricial ectropion in patients with icthyosis. To our knowledge, this is the first report of cicatricial ectropion corrected with supraclavicular skin graft in icthyosis.
