ABSTRACT

Purpose: To report a case with a diagnosis of Kimura disease and orbital involvement.

Method:

A twelve-years -old boy presented with a painless swelling of the right eye. The patient underwent anterior orbitotomy and the diagnosis of Kimura disease was established.

Results:

The patient presented with a painless swelling of the right eye. Initial examination revealed an inferolateral orbital mass. The patient underwent anterior orbitotomy and the diagnosis of Kimura disease was established with histopathology. The patient was consulted with the pediatricsand multiple lymphadenopathies were determined in the head-neck region. Blood tests showed an increased peripheral eosinophilia. In the follow-up no recurrence was seen.

Conclusion:

Kimura disease is not a common disease and orbital involvement is seen in some of the patients. Kimura disease should be considered in a pateint with unilateral painless proptosis and the patient should be examined systemically.
