ABSTRACT
Conclusion:
CCT measurements must be considered to correctly estimate the IOP in patients with thyroid ophtalmopathy.
Results:
Mean IOP in Group 1 was 18.2±3.8 mmHg in right eyes and 17.9±4.2 mmHg in left eyes while 13.5±2.2 mmHg and 14.3±2.0 mmHg in right eyes and in left eyes respectively. CCT measurements were 543.7±31.5 μ in right eyes and 546.2±30.7 μ in left eyes in Group 1 and 526.3±29.7 μ and 535.5±23.4 μ in right and left eyes, respectively, in Group 2. IOP and CCT measurements were significantly higher in Group 1 than Group 2 (p<0.05). There was a positive corelation between IOP, CCT and Hertel measurements in Group 1.
Material and Method:
Forty eyes belonging to 20 patients with thyroid ophtalmopathy (Group 1) and 20 patient in control group (Group 2) with same age distrubition were included in this study. IOP, CCT, anterior and posterior segment examination and gonioscopic examination were applied to all patient and measurement were recorded. IOP and CCT measurements were statistically compared between the groups.

We aimed to compare the intraocular pressure (IOP) and central corneal thickness (CCT) measurements among patients with thyroid ophtalmopathy and control groups for the same age distribution.
