ABSTRACT

Corneal ectasia is one of the most important late term complications which a refractive surgeon would be confronted with. The etiology of this complication is unknown, but it shows resemblance to keratoconus. It is seldom seen after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) and rarely after photorefractive keratectomy (PRK), radial keratotomy and astigmatic keratotomy. In this article, reports published recently on this topic are reviewed and personal experiences are shared.
