ABSTRACT
Pilomatricoma which is also known as “Malherbe’s calcifying epithelioma” arises from the external radicular shaft of the hair root as a firm solitary lesion. This subepidermal tumor is usually located on the face, neck or upper extremities. It generally measures 0.5 cm to 5.0 cm in diameter and is typically found in young children. In histopathologic examination the presence of anucleated, eosinophilic shadow cells is patognomic. In this article we represent a 21 year old female with a pilomatricoma on her right eyebrow.
