ABSTRACT

Neuroblastoma may manifest with symptoms due to metastasis to the orbit. This condition may be mistaken for orbital trauma. In this report, a 10 months-old patient with metastatic orbital neuroblastoma who was previously diagnosed as orbital trauma has been presented. The presenting sypmtoms were left proptosis and the appearance of racoon eyes. The diagnosis of neuroblastoma was made by typical radiological study, blood and urine findings and bone marrow aspiration biopsy. The ophthalmological findings regressed after multiple chemotherapy with multidrug and disappeared 5 months after the treatment. However, 10 months after the initiation fo the treatment, the patient was lost due to bone and lung metastasis and fulminating sepsis secondary to febrile neutropeni.
